A number of our top 100 prospects are about to graduate and/or be called up to the major leagues. The players graduating made me realize this year’s crop of prospects was among the best to come along in recent memory, and predicting next year’s top 10 will be difficult. While this list is completely speculative, here is how I predict next year’s top 10 will shape up based upon the players I think will graduate.
- Domonic Brown (OF-PHI)
- Casey Kelly (P-BOS)
- Bryce Harper (C/OF-WAS)
- Desmond Jennings (OF-TB)
- Martin Perez (P-TEX)
- Mike Moustakas (3B-KC)
- Mike Montgomery (P-KC)
- Dee Gordon (SS-LAD)
- Kyle Drabek (P–TOR)
- Logan Morrison (1B-FLA)
Five other candidates: Logan Morrison (1B-FLA), Aaron Hicks (OF-MIN), Dustin Ackley (2B/OF-SEA), Jesus Montero (C/1B–New York), Simon Castro (P–SD).

No Teheran?
Good comment. Thought about putting Teheran, but decided against it for whatever reason. In retrospect, definitely a snub. We started moving Julio up our “top 100″ list shortly after writing this post, and we now place him at #2 (ahead of even Bryce Harper). Watching one of his starters on milbtv sold me on him…great pitcher.
He’s slowing down a little bit in high-A (2.92 ERA…still pretty awesome), and if I did these over, I’d predict him to be about #5 or 6 coming into next year.
